名詞子句

名詞子句
1. 名詞子句的三個類型
a. that子句
I know that he will go abroad next month.
b. wh-疑文詞子句
We didn’t know what time it was.
c. whether/if子句
We’ll have to decide if/whether we can do it.
2. 名詞子句當主詞
a. that子句
That she doesn’t understand spoken English is obvious.
→ It is obvious that she doesn’t understand English.
That the world is round is a fact.
→ It is a fact that the world is round.
b. wh-疑問詞子句
What he needs is a new job.
What he said surprised me.
c. whether/if子句
Whether he will come is a question.
3. 名詞作受詞
a. that子句
I think that he is a good actor.
b. wh-疑問詞子句
I don’t know who(whom) you like.
You can call on who you want to visit.
I wonder whether he needs help. (I wonder: 我不知道。)
c. whether/if子句
I don’t know (whether/if) he will come.
4. wh-疑問詞 + to v
I don’t know what I should do.
→ I don’t know what to do.
Pam can’t decide whether she should go or stay home.
→ Pam can’t decide whether to go or (to) stay home.
Please tell me how I can get to the bus station.
→ Please tell me how to get to the bus station.
Jim told us where we could find it.
→ Jim told us where to find it.
4. that子句的重要句型
a. It is obvious (that) she doesn’t understand spoken English.
b. It is a fact that the world is round.
c. It has been said that he is a spy in the Second World War. (據說…)
d. It seems to me you don’t have too much choice. (我覺得可能…)
→ It seems that time has come to a standstill.
→ Time seems to have come to a standstill
e. It is widely believed that drug abuse can ruin one’s health. (眾人咸信…)
f. I am afraid (that) I can’t accept your invitation.(我怕…)
g. I am disappointed (that) he failed this exam. (我很失望…)
h. I amazed (that) she is only twenty years old. (我很驚訝…)
i. There is a widespread belief that to reach high levels of ability a person must possess an innate potential called talent.(大家普遍接受…)
j. He has a dream that one day he could find the cure to help all the cancesr patients.
(我有一個夢…)
5. 複合關係代名詞
a. Whoever wants to come is welcome. (主詞:任何人)
b. He makes friends easily with who(m)ever he meets. (受詞:任何人)
c. He always says whatever comes into his mind. (任何物)
d. There are four good programs on TV at eight o’clock.. We can watch whichever program (whichever one) you prefer. (任何一種)
e. You may leave whenever you wish. (任何時候)
f. She can go wherever she wants to go. (任何地方)
g. The students may dress however they please. (任何方式)
副詞的位置
1. too
a. I too was once a boy in love with a pond, rich in sunny hours and summer days.
b. We, too, are going away.
c. Jane went to the cinema and her sister went, too.
be + 副詞
There is clearly something wrong.
She is definitely older than him.
The boy, who is now a man, no longer finds much time for idle drifting.
The swamps where herons hunted are now drained and filled with houses.
